Quick Answers
Can I book a lesson without the evaluation? No. The Evaluation Package is required before starting any training program (except public pack walks).
Is the evaluation included in a training package? No. This step is required in order for me to build rapport with you and your dog, set your goals and expectations, understand your dog’s capabilities and motivators, and develop an accurate and effective training plan.
Do you offer refunds? No. All bookings are final. Reserving a spot takes up space in my schedule that another client could have used. Because training depends on both the dog and the human, results cannot be guaranteed.
How long does a board & train last? Most run 2–4 weeks. Exact length depends on your goals and your dog’s progress.
Do you board dogs who aren’t in training? No. Boarding is exclusively for training clients.

“Kourtni is incredibly knowledgeable and has an obvious passion for what she does. She has done great with my dog Archie so far, who I originally brought to her because of his separation anxiety. Not only has she helped address that, but she has also come up with ideas on how we can make him a happier, more well-rounded dog in general. I really appreciate this after having a new baby and feeling like my original baby (Archie) got put on the back burner. It is nice to have someone that understands how much I love my dog and who cares about making him the best and happiest he can be! I especially appreciate how Kourtni gives us a ton of tangible tools to keep up with his training at home between lessons, because of this I feel empowered as Archie's owner and have a lot of hope for a less stressful future for him and me. We can't wait to continue working with Kourtni and absolutely recommend her to all dog owners!”

I am so happy with my private lessons so far, Kourtni makes things easier with video chat training sessions as an option for people who live out of town. I really like her approach to training and I’ve already seen a lot of improvement with my puppy! He’s stopped biting & is making great recall progress. Thanks Actualized Canine!!! Highly recommend.
I wanted to make an update to my review:
I went to Grand Junction for a 3 day intensive private course about two months ago, and WOW am I happy I went! She made me a personal training plan tailored to my schedule and dogs. My puppy was struggling with reactivity because he was copying his older brother. Kourtni helped us bring it back to the basics, explaining why basic commands are so important, because if they can nail those basic commands (like sit, come, etc,), they can eventually do it with distractions, like around other dogs. We went over a variety of training tactics, did different scenarios, and figured out what motivates them. Really cool to learn about dog behavior! She also filmed the entire sessions for me so I could go back and reference them. They have improved tremendously and are having a great time re-socializing with friendly dogs. I am so proud of them. Thanks Kourtni!
