What is the Rambler Program?

The Rambler Program was created for dogs who have completed extensive training with Actualized Canine, but whose families realize their dog requires a different environment to truly thrive.

This program provides a thoughtful, individualized path to stability, whether that means becoming a permanent member of our pack or being placed in a carefully selected home tailored to their needs. At its core, it ensures every dog we train has the opportunity to live a safe, stable, and fulfilling life.

Program Questions

  • The Rambler Program exists because of the small, but no less important, number of dogs that make significant progress at our training facility only to struggle once they return home. In some heartbreaking cases, those dogs were ultimately euthanized. Not because they were incapable of improving or because their owners didn’t try, but because their home environment or lifestyle was not suited to the needs of those dogs for long-term success. These experiences showed us that training alone isn’t always enough.

    The Rambler Program exists to create another option: finding a life that is genuinely suited to the individual dog. Some dogs need more space, structure, management, or a different lifestyle than the traditional pet model can provide. Instead of continually asking a dog to fit into a life that doesn't work for them, or asking an owner to choose between keeping their dog and maintaining a safe, happy home, the Rambler Program asks, “What kind of life would allow this particular dog to succeed?” Our goal is to create sustainable, lifelong outcomes and give dogs the opportunity to thrive in an environment where they can truly be successful.

Training comes first. Only existing Actualized Canine Clients are eligible for the Rambler Program.
